Starting to See Why

So it is day two without coffee! I must say I am missing the usual filling up my cup in the morning and when I am at the waffle company. After last night and crying out to God for myself and a friend, and todays study of the word 'fasting' and 'hunger' I am starting to see why God is convicting me of this.

I ventured to biblegateway.com and looked up the word fasting. The one verse that fit from my Bible was Matthew 6:16-18.
16"When you fast, do not look somber as the hypocrites do, for they disfigure their faces to show men they are fasting. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. 17But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, 18so that it will not be obvious to men that you are fasting, but only to your Father, who is unseen; and your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

What I got out of this is that I am not to bring attention to myself and not look somber. On day one I was up till about mid-night and woke up early so I could get to my computer. I didn't shower and I didn't look too nice. I got to work and the whole day I felt as if my life wasn't right because I didn't have my coffee. By the end of the day I had a huge head-ache. Well duh, huh? I have a caffine problem...lol. Anyways that night though as I was at the shop where I had to work, ouch! But I was able to keep my mind on God and Him satisfying me. But that night praying and thanking God I made it through day one, he said yeah, right Rekann, day one completed but let's continue to another day.

So here I am here praying to God why are you making me do this? And then I read Matthew 4:1-11. This is after I looked up the word fasting and kept getting the word hunger. So I looked that word up too!

The Temptation of Jesus
1Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the desert to be tempted by the devil. 2After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. 3The tempter came to him and said, "If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread." 4Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'a]" class="footnote">[a]" 5Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. 6"If you are the Son of God," he said, "throw yourself down. For it is written:
" 'He will command his angels concerning you,
and they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.'b]" class="footnote">[b]"
7Jesus answered him, "It is also written: 'Do not put the Lord your God to the test.'c]" class="footnote">[c]" 8Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. 9"All this I will give you," he said, "if you will bow down and worship me." 10Jesus said to him, "Away from me, Satan! For it is written: 'Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.'d]" class="footnote">[d]" 11Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him.

Now it really came into play in the last thing Jesus said to the devil. Away from me Satan! For it is written 'Worship the Lord your God and serve Him only! That is why! Not that coffee really over consumes my life. But that satan does, that he is at every corner want me to mess up and not rely on God. That is my down fall. Everyone really. But I can think about five or six times this past year that I did that and God was their the whole time providing away of escape. Now God wants me to put Him in my daily life like I do my coffee! So every morning wake up want Him so much and wanting to love Him.

Ready for what hunger said!
6Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be filled.
This is what I need to do, hunger and thirst for righteousness like I do my coffee and then loook what will happen...I will be filled!

Oh God you are amazing!
